After more than a month of filming, Patrick Wilson has officially wrapped his role as Ed Warren in The Conjuring: Last Rites, the highly anticipated final chapter of the Conjuring series. Vera Farmiga, who has portrayed his wife Lorraine Warren alongside him for over a decade, took to Instagram to share her emotions as they near the end of their journey in the Conjuring Universe. In her heartfelt post, Vera bid farewell to the "fake marriage" and reflected on nearly 5000 days spent portraying the iconic paranormal investigators. She honored Patrick Wilson with a touching message, stating, “Here’s to 12 years. I cherish you,” expressing her deep gratitude and affection for her longtime co-star.
The Conjuring: Last Rites is slated to hit theaters on September 5, 2025, and will feature Wilson and Farmiga reprising their iconic roles. Directed by Michael Chaves, who previously helmed The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021) and The Nun II (2023), the movie will also star Mia Tomlinson, Ben Hardy, Shannon Kook, and Steve Coulter in key roles. The script was written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, Ian Goldberg, Richard Naing, and James Wan.
The Conjuring franchise began in 2013 with James Wan’s The Conjuring, which set the stage for the paranormal investigations of Ed and Lorraine Warren as they helped families deal with supernatural threats. The success of the first film led to multiple sequels and spin-offs, including The Conjuring 2 (2016), The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021), and several Annabelle and Nun spin-offs. A new Conjuring TV series is also in development at Max, with Peter Safran serving as executive producer.
Fans eagerly await the release of The Conjuring: Last Rites, which will bring an end to the gripping and terrifying saga of the Warrens’ investigations.
