After a significant delay, Adithattu, the thriller film starring Sunny Wayne and Shine Tom Chacko, is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video. This sea-based thriller, directed by Jijo Antony, takes viewers on an intense journey when a group of seven fishermen embarks on a sea trip with an experienced captain. However, the story takes a dark turn when the captain is found dead, raising suspicions among the crew members and increasing the tension on board.
The film has garnered good reviews for its unique plot and the performances of the lead actors. Adithattu combines suspense, thriller, and drama to create an engaging narrative. Despite not having a long theatrical run, the film’s magnificent setting and the dynamic characters played by Shine Tom Chacko, Sunny Wayne, Sabumon Abdusamad, Prashanth Alexander, and Murugan Martin have stood out.
The film’s screenplay, written by Khais Millen, delves into the lives of fishermen and their personalities, though the story itself has been criticized for feeling secondary to the setting. The visuals, captured by Pappinu, and the editing by Noufal Abdullah complement the intense mood of the film, which is further enhanced by Nezer Ahemed’s atmospheric background score. However, the slow pacing and limited plot development left some viewers frustrated, particularly as the film builds up suspense without delivering much action.
Despite these criticisms, Adithattu has the potential to gain more traction on OTT platforms, where audiences can experience its unique plot and setting at their own pace. The film is expected to attract viewers who enjoy thrillers with a distinct backdrop and slow-burn storytelling.
