All We Imagine As Light, directed by Payal Kapadia and a Grand Prix winner at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, is set for a limited release across Kerala starting this Saturday. The announcement came from the makers, with Spirit Media—founded by Baahubali star Rana Daggubati—securing the exclusive distribution rights for the Malayalam-Hindi film in India.
The film will be known as Prabhayay Ninachathellam in its Malayalam version and is expected to expand to major cities throughout India following its Kerala release. An official Indo-French co-production, All We Imagine As Light was produced by Zico Maitra of Chalk and Cheese Films and Ranabir of Another Birth, who also served as the cinematographer.
Payal Kapadia, an FTII graduate, is the first filmmaker to win the Grand Prix award with this film. She expressed her enthusiasm for the Indian release, highlighting the film's narrative about two women from Kerala pursuing their dreams in Mumbai. She stated, “It is fitting that Kerala, the state that holds a special place in the film's heart, will be the first to experience it in theaters. I look forward to sharing this story with audiences across India as we move forward with the release.”
