On September 8, the creators of Asif Ali's much-anticipated Malayalam film Kishkindha Kaandam unveiled the first single from the movie, titled "Vaanara Lokam." This track, composed and produced by Mujeeb Majeed, features lyrics penned by Shyam Muraleedharan and is brought to life by vocalists Job Kurian and Jmymah.
In addition to the song release, the filmmakers announced that Kishkindha Kaandam has been granted a U/A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film is set to be released in theaters on September 12, aligning with the Onam festivities.
A few days ago, the teaser for Kishkindha Kaandam was released, offering a glimpse into the film's thrilling narrative set in a forest reserve called Kallepathi. The teaser features Asif Ali and Aparna Balamurali as a married couple, with Vijayaraghavan portraying Asif's father, a man with a mysterious past. The trailer showcases lush greenery, rich flora and fauna, and highlights the presence of monkeys, adding an intriguing element to the visuals. It also hints at the imposition of Section 144 in the area due to public threats and Naxal movements dating back to the 1970s. The cast includes Nishan, Jagadish, Ashokan, Nizhalgal Ravi, Shebin Benson, Major Ravi, and Kottayam Ramesh.
Dinjith Ayyathan, acclaimed for directing Kakshi Amminipilla starring Asif Ali, returns to direct Kishkindha Kaandam. The film is based on a screenplay by Bahul Ramesh, who also serves as the cinematographer. This project marks a reunion between Asif Ali and Dinjith Ayyathan following their successful collaboration on Kakshi Amminipilla, which received critical acclaim.
Kishkindha Kaandam has been produced by Joby George under the Goodwill Entertainments banner. The production was completed in August 2023. The film's technical team includes music director Sushin Shyam and editor Sooraj ES.
