A new 3D Malayalam mythological epic titled Veera Manikandan has been officially launched, celebrating the tales of Lord Ayyappa. Directed by the talented duo Mahesh Kesav and Saji S Mangalath, known for their work on the upcoming Dhyan Sreenivasan-starrer 11:11, the film aims to captivate audiences with its rich cultural narrative.
The launch event took place at the Sabarimala Sannidhanam, where the film's poster and script were ceremonially presented to the temple's head priest, Arun Kumar Namboothiri. This event marked a significant moment in the film's journey, emphasizing its connection to the revered traditions associated with Lord Ayyappa.
The script for Veera Manikandan has been penned by Nagesh Narayanan. Production is set to commence on November 16, coinciding with the start of the Malayalam month Vrischikam and the inaugural day of the Sabarimala pilgrimage season in 2024. The release of the film is strategically planned for 2025 to align with this important pilgrimage season.
Veera Manikandan is not limited to Malayalam audiences; it will also be released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. While the film will feature leading artists from major film industries across the country, the titular character will be portrayed by a newcomer, adding a fresh perspective to this epic tale.
