The excitement around Rajinikanth's upcoming film Vettaiyan is palpable as the release date approaches in just two weeks. Among the recently unveiled character posters, it has been announced that Abhirami will portray the character Swetha in this action-drama. The film is directed by TJ Gnanavel and features a stellar ensemble cast that includes Amitabh Bachchan, making his Tamil film debut as Sathyadev, alongside prominent actors such as Fahadh Faasil as Patrick, Rana Daggubati as Natraj, Manju Warrier as Thara, Ritika Singh as Roopa, Dushara Vijayan as Saranya, and VJ Rakshan. This marks a significant reunion between Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan, who last appeared together in Hum 33 years ago.
A recently released glimpse into the film reveals a compelling narrative where an inquiry commission investigates extrajudicial killings perpetrated by police officers. Amitabh Bachchan's character leads this commission as he questions the morality of encounters that are seen as heroic by some. Rajinikanth's character, an apologist for such actions, argues that these killings serve not only as punishment but also as a preventative measure against crime.
The technical crew behind Vettaiyan includes music composed by Anirudh, marking his fourth collaboration with Rajinikanth. The cinematography is handled by SR Kathir, and editing is done by Philomin Raj, contributing to the film’s anticipated visual and auditory experience.
Vettaiyan is set to hit theaters on October 10, releasing in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada, promising a wide-reaching impact for audiences across India.
