Airfare on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route has seen a sharp rise ahead of the Christmas holidays, soaring fourfold to ₹14,000. Typically priced between ₹3,500 and ₹4,000, ticket rates have surged due to increased travel demand during the festive period.
Families, tourists, and business travelers planning holiday trips have contributed to the spike in demand. Reports indicate that similar fare hikes have been observed on routes connecting major cities like Delhi, Chennai, and Bengaluru.
Despite being a short-distance route, the Mumbai-Ahmedabad sector has experienced a significant rise in fares, partly due to business travelers and vacationers utilizing the festive break.
Travelers are advised to make early bookings to avoid last-minute price surges. Meanwhile, airlines are expected to introduce special offers and discounts to balance the demand and make air travel more affordable during the peak season.
Passengers are hopeful that authorities and airlines will take measures to stabilize prices and ensure smoother travel experiences during the holiday season.
