In preparation for the resumption of the ‘Dilli Chalo’ farmers’ protest, the Haryana government has suspended internet services in 12 villages in Ambala district.

In preparation for the resumption of the ‘Dilli Chalo’ farmers’ protest, the Haryana government has suspended internet services in 12 villages in Ambala district. Farmers from Punjab are planning another attempt to march towards the national capital from the Shambhu border on Saturday as part of the ongoing agitation.

The internet suspension will affect villages including Dangdehri, Lohgarh, Manakpur, Dadiyana, Bari Ghel, Choti Ghel, Lharsa, Kalu Majra, Devi Nagar (Hira Nagar, Naresh Vihar), Saddopur, Sultanpur, and Kakru. The services will remain suspended from 6 am on Saturday until midnight on December 17. However, banking and mobile recharge services will remain functional.

Haryana Additional Chief Secretary (Home), Dr. Sumita Misra, issued the order following a request from the police. The authorities cited concerns over potential tension, public agitation, damage to public and private property, and disturbances to public peace in the district, triggered by the farmers' march planned by certain farmer organizations. This action reflects the government's efforts to prevent any untoward incidents during the protest.

However, banking and mobile recharge services will remain functional.
