After several days of persistent cold wave conditions, Rajasthan has finally seen a break in the harsh weather, with a noticeable rise of almost 4°C in daytime temperatures across the state. This change has brought much-needed warmth to residents, especially in cities like Jaipur, where mornings were relatively warmer than before.
Vanasthali, a town in the southeastern part of the state, recorded the coldest minimum temperature, touching a chilly 5.8°C, according to the latest reports from the Met department. This relief from the frigid temperatures was welcomed, as the previous days had seen unusually low readings throughout the state.
The abrupt change in weather conditions is being attributed to the shift in the winds. The Met office explained that active northerly winds, combined with the dissipation of western disturbances, led to the improved weather. As a result, the state will witness brighter and sunnier days in the coming week, offering relief to people after the prolonged chill.
In the state capital, Jaipur, residents woke up to a relatively warmer morning with the minimum temperature recorded at 8.8°C, compared to the freezing cold of previous days. By the afternoon, the temperature had risen significantly, reaching a maximum of 26.8°C, almost 5°C higher than the normal daytime temperature for this time of year. The warmer temperatures, along with clear skies, meant that there were no fog or mist issues in the morning, ensuring smooth traffic flow on the major highways, including those connecting Jaipur to Agra, Delhi, and Ajmer.
The improved weather conditions were felt across the state. Dungarpur recorded a minimum temperature of 6.0°C, while Sriganganagar experienced 6.1°C. Other cities such as Alwar, Nagaur, and Churu saw minimum temperatures of 6.2°C, 6.3°C, and 6.8°C, respectively. In contrast, cities further west, including Jaisalmer, recorded 8.5°C, while Bikaner had a minimum of 9.1°C. Sikar, situated in the central region, reported the warmest morning with a temperature of 11.4°C.
The Met office has confirmed that the upward trend in temperatures is expected to continue across Rajasthan in the coming days. With no further sign of the cold wave, residents can look forward to more comfortable conditions, with bright, sunny weather expected throughout the state. This shift marks a welcome end to the severe cold that had persisted over the past week, bringing much-needed relief to the residents and commuters alike.
