The Arunachal Pradesh Government has constituted a committee to examine reports alleging Chinese encroachment in parts of the Upper Subansiri district. The decision was announced by State Home Minister Mama Natung, who said the committee has been tasked with verifying the claims and presenting its findings to the government.
The move follows reports that raised concerns regarding alleged activities near the border in the Upper Subansiri region. In response, the state government has initiated an official verification process to establish the facts before taking any further action.
Speaking on the issue, Home Minister Mama Natung said the government would carefully examine all available information through the committee. He emphasised that protecting the territorial integrity of Arunachal Pradesh remains a priority and stated that no Indian territory would be surrendered.
According to the minister, the committee will conduct a detailed assessment of the reported locations, gather relevant information and coordinate with the concerned departments wherever necessary. The findings will be submitted to the state government for further review.
Upper Subansiri is one of the districts of Arunachal Pradesh that shares proximity with the Line of Actual Control between India and China. The region has frequently been the focus of strategic and administrative attention because of its geographical significance.
Border related issues are generally handled through coordination between state authorities, central agencies and security forces. Any reports concerning territorial claims or alleged encroachments are typically examined through official verification before conclusions are drawn.
