Congress Member of Parliament K. C. Venugopal has moved an Adjournment Motion in the Lok Sabha seeking an urgent discussion on allegations of financial irregularities related to donations at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The motion calls for parliamentary attention to the matter and seeks a detailed response from the government regarding the allegations.

In his submission, Venugopal referred to reports alleging financial fraud involving public donations made to the temple. He also raised concerns over claims that valuables connected to the temple administration had allegedly gone missing. Describing the matter as one of significant public importance, he said the allegations require a transparent and impartial investigation.

The Congress leader further alleged that CCTV footage connected to the case was destroyed and that an accounts officer associated with the temple administration had been removed from service. According to him, these developments have raised additional questions about the handling of the matter and the need for a comprehensive inquiry.

Venugopal argued that the existing investigation initiated by the Uttar Pradesh government would not be sufficient to address the concerns being raised. He maintained that an independent investigation would help ensure greater public confidence and transparency. As part of his demand, he called for an inquiry to be conducted under the supervision of the Supreme Court.

The Adjournment Motion seeks to suspend the normal business of the Lok Sabha to allow an immediate discussion on the issue. Such motions are used by Members of Parliament to bring matters of urgent public importance before the House, although their admission is subject to the approval of the Speaker.

The allegations have triggered political reactions, with opposition parties demanding greater accountability in matters involving public donations and the management of religious institutions. They have argued that allegations involving financial transparency should be examined thoroughly through appropriate legal and institutional mechanisms.

There has been no official judicial finding establishing the allegations mentioned by the Congress leader. The claims remain allegations and any determination regarding their authenticity will depend on the outcome of investigations conducted by the competent authorities.

The issue has also added to the political debates taking place during the ongoing Parliament session, where several opposition parties have been pressing for discussions on different matters of public concern. Frequent protests and procedural demands have resulted in repeated disruptions during parliamentary proceedings.

The government has continued with its legislative agenda while responding to opposition demands through parliamentary procedures. Whether the Adjournment Motion will be admitted for discussion depends on the decision of the Speaker of the Lok Sabha and the rules governing parliamentary business.

The developments surrounding the motion are expected to remain a subject of political discussion in the coming days, as both the government and the opposition continue to present their respective positions. Any further action regarding the allegations is likely to depend on official investigations and subsequent parliamentary proceedings.
