The newly elected Members of the Legislative Assembly in Tamil Nadu took oath during the inaugural session of the 17th Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly held at the Chennai Secretariat. The event marked the beginning of the new legislative term and drew significant political attention across the state.
The oath-taking ceremony was conducted under the supervision of the Pro Tem Speaker, who administered the oath to all newly elected legislators. Senior government officials, political leaders and invited guests attended the session, which was held following the recent Assembly election results.
The session was considered particularly important for Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam after the party’s performance in the elections. The party, led by Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay, officially began its legislative responsibilities as members entered the Assembly to take their constitutional oath.

Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay was among the first leaders to take oath during the session. Following the oath ceremony, he formally assumed his role and responsibilities in the Assembly.
