India’s captain Rohit Sharma will not travel to Karachi for the captains' conference, and other teams, including Australia and England, will only reach Pakistan right before the tournament begins.

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025, scheduled to take place in Pakistan and the UAE, will not feature an opening ceremony with all eight competing teams. Additionally, the traditional pre-tournament activities, such as the captains' conference and official photoshoot, have been canceled.

According to reports, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the International Cricket Council (ICC) made this decision due to the late arrival of several teams. India’s captain Rohit Sharma will not travel to Karachi for the captains' conference, and other teams, including Australia and England, will only reach Pakistan right before the tournament begins.

Australia is set to arrive on February 19, the same day the tournament kicks off, while England will reach Pakistan on February 18. Meanwhile, Bangladesh and India are expected in Dubai by February 15, Afghanistan on February 12, and South Africa and New Zealand will be the earliest arrivals due to their tri-series against Pakistan.

The tournament follows a hybrid model, with India playing all their matches in Dubai due to their reluctance to travel to Pakistan. The opening match will feature Pakistan facing New Zealand, while India will play their first game against Bangladesh on February 20 in Dubai. While a grand opening ceremony is not planned, PCB is reportedly considering a smaller event ahead of Pakistan’s first match in Karachi.
