It further emphasized that while the management of the teams would rotate, the core business operations would remain under the purview of the Delhi Capitals’ dedicated management team.

The Delhi Capitals have unveiled a strategic initiative to rotate the management of cricket operations for their men's and women's teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Women's Premier League (WPL). This decision, effective immediately, will see GMR Group overseeing the men's team for the next two years, while JSW Group will manage the women's team during the same period. The rotation policy is designed to enhance operational efficiency and collaboration within the ownership structure of the Delhi Capitals franchise.

The announcement came through a release shared by the owners, detailing the rationale behind this move. "The strategic move aims at optimizing operational efficiency across teams within the ownership umbrella of the Delhi Capitals franchise," the statement read. It further emphasized that while the management of the teams would rotate, the core business operations would remain under the purview of the Delhi Capitals’ dedicated management team.

Key decisions, including player auctions, captaincy, player releases, and retentions for both teams, will be made collectively by the Delhi Capitals' board. This collaborative approach ensures that senior leadership from both GMR and JSW can contribute their expertise and insights, ultimately fostering a unified vision for the franchise.

GMR Group, one of the original franchises in the IPL, previously operated under the name Delhi Daredevils before entering a 50-50 partnership with JSW Sports in 2018. This partnership led to the rebranding of the team as the Delhi Capitals. The current initiative reflects the ongoing commitment of both groups to invest in and nurture the franchise's growth in both the men's and women's games.

In addition to their IPL commitments, GMR Group will continue to manage the Dubai Capitals in the ILT20 League, while JSW Sports will oversee the Pretoria Capitals in the SA20 South African league. This distribution of responsibilities across various leagues further exemplifies the groups' dedication to expanding their cricketing footprint on a global scale.

As the Delhi Capitals embark on this new chapter, fans can look forward to an enhanced operational strategy that prioritizes teamwork and strategic management, ultimately aiming for greater success in both the IPL and WPL arenas. The rotation of management not only reflects a forward-thinking approach but also highlights the franchise's commitment to achieving excellence across all levels of cricket.
