India's World Test Championship (WTC) campaign is set to face a significant challenge as they prepare to take on Bangladesh in a two-match Test series. The opening Test of the series is scheduled to commence in Chennai on September 20, 2024.
This series holds particular significance as it will be the first for new head coach Gautam Gambhir, who steps into the role with the goal of steering the team through this crucial phase of the WTC. Alongside Gambhir, the team will also see the debut of Morne Morkel as the new bowling coach. Morkel, who has taken over the duties from his predecessor, will be looking to make a strong impact with his expertise in guiding the Indian bowlers.
The Chennai Test will serve as a litmus test for both Gambhir and Morkel as they aim to set the tone for India's campaign in the ongoing WTC cycle. With the stakes high, the series promises to be an exciting and pivotal moment for the Indian cricket team.
