Sarfaraz Khan has been included in India's Test squad for the upcoming series against Bangladesh, which begins on November 19. Despite his retention in the squad, it is expected that he might be excluded from the playing eleven for the first Test. This decision comes amid ongoing team selections and strategic considerations by the management.
In a related development, Sarfaraz has also been named to the India B squad for the second-round matches of the Duleep Trophy 2024, scheduled from September 12 to September 15. This involvement in the Duleep Trophy will give him the opportunity to showcase his form and skills in domestic cricket. His participation in these matches is strategically timed to ensure that he remains in peak condition and match-ready.
The scheduling of the Duleep Trophy games allows Sarfaraz to gain valuable playing time and maintain his fitness while ensuring that he can join the Indian Test squad in time for the series against Bangladesh. The dual roles of participating in the Duleep Trophy and being part of the Test squad reflect the depth of talent and the competitive nature of Indian cricket. His ability to seamlessly transition between domestic and international cricket will be crucial as the team prepares for the Test series.
