IND vs BAN: The Bangladesh cricket team has faced India in 13 Test matches over the years, but despite their efforts, they have yet to secure a victory against their formidable opponents. Out of these 13 encounters, India has emerged victorious 11 times, showcasing their dominance in the format. However, there have been two occasions when Bangladesh managed to avoid defeat, resulting in drawn matches—both of which occurred on Bangladeshi soil.
The first instance of Bangladesh holding India to a draw came during India’s 2007 tour of Bangladesh in Chattogram. It was a hard-fought contest, with the home side putting up a spirited performance. Despite being up against a stronger Indian side, the Tigers displayed remarkable resilience and tenacity throughout the match. Their effort to save the game was commendable, as they refused to let India dominate and managed to fight through challenging situations, ultimately eking out a draw.
The second draw came in 2015 in Fatullah, where rain played a significant role in limiting the game. The weather hampered India's efforts to force a result, allowing Bangladesh to hold on for another draw. Although the Tigers couldn’t register a victory in either match, both draws represented a major achievement for them, showcasing their growing ability to challenge stronger teams like India in the Test format.
While Bangladesh has yet to break the winless streak against India in Tests, these two draws remain important milestones in their cricketing journey, demonstrating their potential and growth in the longest format of the game.
