IND vs SL: Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli's Net Session at Premadasa Delayed by Rain
India's ODI captain Rohit Sharma and star batsman Virat Kohli arrived in Colombo on Sunday night, but their planned net session at the R Premadasa Stadium on Monday was disrupted by rain. Both players, along with Kuldeep Yadav, were seen at the stadium waiting for the weather to clear before eventually returning to their hotel.
Shreyas Iyer, Kuldeep Yadav, and Harshit Rana also checked into the ITC Ratnadipa hotel in Colombo. To facilitate training for the five players selected for the ODI series against Sri Lanka, assistant coach Abhishek Nayar traveled from Pallekele after India's victory in the second T20I on Sunday night. Nayar was spotted enjoying tea while Rohit Sharma and former Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews met at the stadium. Mathews, who was dropped from the T20I squad following Sri Lanka's poor performance in the T20 World Cup 2024, was also present.
Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Kuldeep Yadav are returning to action following India's T20 World Cup win in Barbados on June 29. Shreyas Iyer is also making a return, having been previously dropped from the BCCI central contract list.
