While the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) has already secured a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, allowing the team to participate provided they do not receive financial support from the government, the team’s participation is still pending approval from the MHA and MEA.

The Indian Blind Cricket Team is currently awaiting final clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to participate in the upcoming T20 Blind World Cup, which will be hosted in Pakistan for the first time. The tournament is scheduled to take place from November 23 to December 3, with matches planned in the cities of Lahore and Multan.

CABI has been waiting for over two weeks to receive a definitive response from the government regarding the clearance. CABI General Secretary Shailender Yadav expressed his frustration with the delay, stating, "We’ve been waiting for 15 days now for a response, and we just need a clear answer from the government."

This situation is compounded by the team's previous experiences. India last visited Pakistan in 2014 for a bilateral series, but in 2018, the Indian government denied clearance for the team to participate in the World Cup when it was held in Dubai. In 2023, Pakistan chose not to participate when the tournament was hosted in India. These past instances have made the current uncertainty even more difficult for CABI, which is hopeful for a positive response but remains uncertain due to the ongoing clearance process.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC), which is responsible for organizing the tournament, has already issued visas for the Indian team. Despite this, PBCC Chairman Syed Sultan Shah emphasized that the tournament will proceed as scheduled, with or without India’s participation. "All other teams are confirmed to be coming to Pakistan for the World Cup. If one team doesn’t show up, it won’t affect our preparations," Shah remarked, making it clear that the event will move forward regardless of India's status. The absence of the Indian team would be significant, however, as they are the reigning champions and their participation is highly anticipated.

As the clock ticks down to the start of the tournament, all eyes are now on the Indian government to provide a clear and final decision, which will determine whether India will defend its title at the T20 Blind World Cup in Pakistan or whether the event will proceed without its defending champions.
