Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer are expected to be part of the two marquee sets at the IPL 2025 auction, which is scheduled to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 24. This marks the return of dual marquee sets for the first time since the 2018 IPL auction, after the last big auction featured only one marquee set.
As per a report from CricBuzz, the upcoming IPL Mega Auction will include two marquee sets, each featuring 8 to 9 elite players. These players will have a starting base price of Rs 2 Crore, ensuring that they attract attention from all franchises. The marquee sets are set to bring some of the biggest names in cricket under the spotlight, with several high-profile players from both India and abroad in the mix.
Pant and Iyer, both prominent Indian players, have been registered for the auction at the Rs 2 Crore base price, along with several other renowned cricketers. These include KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh, Ishan Kishan, and Ravichandran Ashwin from India, as well as global stars like Jos Buttler, Mitchell Starc, Glenn Maxwell, Kagiso Rabada, Sam Curran, and Mitchell Marsh.
The final list of players who will make it to the marquee sets will be confirmed soon, with the BCCI set to announce the final list of 1574 registered players following the deadline for franchises to make their selections on November 12. The two marquee sets are expected to add significant excitement to the auction, as teams look to strengthen their squads with top-tier talent.
The auction will take place at the Abady Al Johar Arena (also known as Benchmark Arena), and with the IPL 2025 season on the horizon, these marquee sets will undoubtedly play a crucial role in shaping the rosters for the upcoming season.
