Saurabh Netravalkar gained widespread acclaim in the cricketing world following his remarkable Super Over performance against Pakistan, which was pivotal in securing the USA's historic T20 World Cup 2024 victory at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas.
The Mumbai-born left-arm pacer showcased his skill by expertly varying his line and length to successfully defend 19 runs in the Super Over against prominent batsmen like Iftikhar Ahmed and Shadab Khan. Netravalkar, known for his unique left-arm pace bowling, initially faced stiff competition for opportunities in India despite being part of the India U19 setup and playing domestic cricket for Mumbai.
Seeking better prospects, the 32-year-old seized a significant opportunity when he joined the United States squad for the Super50 Tournament in the West Indies. His recent standout performances in the Major League Cricket (MLC) 2024, where he topped the wicket-taking charts with 15 wickets in seven matches at an average of 13.46, including a notable four-wicket haul, have further elevated his profile.
Given his impressive performances, it is highly likely that IPL teams have been closely monitoring him. As a result, Netravalkar could attract significant interest and spark a bidding war at the IPL 2025 auction.
