Bollywood actor and co-owner of the Kolkata franchise in the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL), Saif Ali Khan, was critically injured in a shocking incident early Thursday morning. An unidentified intruder broke into Saif’s Bandra residence, leading to a violent confrontation during which the actor was stabbed six times, including two deep wounds. One of the injuries was dangerously close to his spinal cord, raising immediate concerns for his health.
Following the attack, Saif was rushed to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital at approximately 3:30 am. A team of specialists, including neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange, cosmetic surgeon Dr. Leena Jain, and anesthesiologist Dr. Nisha Gandhi, performed surgery to address his injuries. According to Dr. Uttamani from Lilavati Hospital, Saif’s condition is now stable, and he is out of danger, though he remains under close observation.
The burglary attempt occurred while some of Saif’s family members were present in the house. Deputy Commissioner of Police Dixit Gedam confirmed the details, stating, "An unidentified person intruded into actor Saif Ali Khan's residence. During the altercation, the actor was injured. The investigation is ongoing to identify and apprehend the accused."
Mumbai Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect and are analyzing CCTV footage from the vicinity of Saif’s residence. The incident has raised concerns about security, even in high-profile neighborhoods like Bandra.
Saif’s team released a public statement requesting patience and understanding from fans and the media, emphasizing that it is a police matter. “There was an attempted burglary at Mr. Saif Ali Khan’s residence.
