The 2024 edition of the Legends League Cricket (LLC) is set to begin on September 20, and fans can look forward to an exhilarating season featuring several iconic Indian cricketers making their debut in the tournament. The competition, which will see 25 matches played across six teams, promises to be a showcase of cricketing prowess and veteran experience.
This year's tournament includes notable debutants such as Shikhar Dhawan, Dinesh Karthik, Ambati Rayudu, Dhawal Kulkarni, and Kedar Jadhav—players who have recently retired from international and domestic cricket and are now stepping into the LLC spotlight.
Shikhar Dhawan, known for his explosive opening batting, recently retired from international cricket after a distinguished career. With 6,793 runs and 17 centuries in 167 One Day Internationals (ODIs), Dhawan has been a formidable force at the top of the order. In LLC 2024, he will captain the Gujarat Greats, bringing his leadership experience from both the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the national team. Dhawan’s role as captain is expected to play a crucial part in guiding his team through the tournament.
Dinesh Karthik, another significant name in Indian cricket, will lead the Southern Superstars this season. Karthik, who retired from all formats after the 2024 IPL, has been a key figure in the cricketing world with 4,842 runs in 257 IPL matches, showcasing his skill both behind the stumps and with the bat. His recent success in commentary has added to his popularity, but his return to competitive play in LLC is highly anticipated. Karthik’s experience and dynamic playing style will be a major asset for his team.
Ambati Rayudu, Dhawal Kulkarni, and Kedar Jadhav are also set to make their mark in the tournament. Rayudu, known for his versatile batting, Kulkarni, a reliable fast bowler, and Jadhav, a dynamic all-rounder, all bring their unique skills and experience to the LLC, enriching the tournament’s competitive edge.
As the LLC 2024 season unfolds, fans can look forward to exciting performances and memorable moments from these veteran cricketers as they make their debut in this prestigious league.
