Speaking to the media following a recent match, Sai Kishore made it clear that Rashid Khan remains an integral part of the team’s bowling unit.

With the IPL 2025 season heading into its crucial final stretch, questions have emerged around the form of Gujarat Titans' premier leg-spinner Rashid Khan. The Afghan cricketer, who has long been regarded as one of the most feared bowlers in T20 cricket, has had a relatively quiet season with fewer wickets than expected. However, his teammate R Sai Kishore has publicly backed the star spinner, brushing aside any concerns about his form.

Speaking to the media following a recent match, Sai Kishore made it clear that Rashid Khan remains an integral part of the team’s bowling unit.

“Rashid bhai is the best T20 bowler in the world. One or two off games don’t define his impact. Even when he’s not taking wickets, he’s building pressure and helping others in the bowling attack,” said Kishore.

Kishore emphasized that Rashid’s economy rate and ability to control the game in the middle overs are often overlooked by critics who focus solely on wicket tallies. According to team sources, Rashid has been playing a more supportive role this season, focusing on containing runs and forcing batters into mistakes that benefit other bowlers.

Statistically, Rashid Khan has maintained a respectable economy rate of under 7 runs per over across this season, though his wicket count is lower compared to previous years. Analysts believe that teams are now playing him out cautiously, preferring to attack other bowlers.

Sai Kishore added:

“We’re a team. Some days it’s Rashid, some days it’s Mohit or me. He brings calmness, experience, and leadership. That’s invaluable in high-pressure games.”

The Titans’ coaching staff also echoed Kishore’s sentiments. Assistant coach Mithun Manhas commented,

“Rashid’s presence alone creates fear in the opposition camp. He may not always show up on the stat sheet, but his contribution is massive.”

Fans, meanwhile, have shown divided opinions on social media. While some have expressed disappointment over the lack of flashy spells, many have stood by Rashid, trusting his ability to bounce back during the playoffs—a stage where he has traditionally thrived.

Rashid himself has not responded directly to the chatter but was seen encouraging young bowlers and staying actively involved in on-field strategies, further proving his leadership value.

With the knockout stages fast approaching, Gujarat Titans will undoubtedly look to Rashid Khan to deliver when it matters most. If history is any indicator, the Afghan wizard could be saving his magic for the big games ahead.
