"I was fortunate to train with Mary for an entire season and gain valuable insights from her and the coaching team," Tullis-Joyce said.

Phallon Tullis-Joyce is poised to take over as Manchester United's new number one goalkeeper, feeling well-prepared thanks to her time learning from Mary Earps. Earps, who made a significant mark during her five seasons with United, departed for Paris Saint-Germain in July after her contract ended. Her tenure with United saw her make 102 appearances and achieve 46 clean sheets in the Women’s Super League (WSL), establishing a formidable legacy.

Tullis-Joyce, who joined United from Seattle Reign last year, had the opportunity to work alongside Earps for one season. Despite her limited appearances—four in the League Cup—Tullis-Joyce found the experience invaluable. At the Barclays WSL 2024-25 season launch media day, Tullis-Joyce shared her thoughts with Stats Perform, highlighting how her time with Earps and the coaching staff has prepared her for the upcoming season. "I was fortunate to train with Mary for an entire season and gain valuable insights from her and the coaching team," Tullis-Joyce said. She emphasized that this preparation has been instrumental in equipping her for the responsibilities of being United's number one goalkeeper. With the start of the new season approaching, Tullis-Joyce is ready to build on the strong foundation laid by Earps and contribute significantly to United’s goalkeeping strength
