Four years after domestic abuse allegations made by Olga Sharypova against World No. 4 tennis player Alexander Zverev, the journalist who covered her story, Ben Rothenberg, is now crowdfunding to cover legal expenses related to a lawsuit from Zverev.

Rothenberg, a respected tennis writer, has turned to GoFundMe to raise $22,000 to manage the high costs of litigation with Zverev’s legal team in German courts. In a recent update on X (formerly Twitter), Rothenberg explained the financial strain of the legal battle and provided a link to his crowdfunding campaign.

In an impressive show of support, Rothenberg's goal was reached in just 22 hours. He has announced that any funds received beyond the legal costs will be donated to House of Ruth, a domestic violence shelter in Washington. This gesture underscores Rothenberg’s commitment to supporting survivors of domestic abuse and highlights the ongoing impact of Sharypova’s story.
