Charlie Woods, the 15-year-old son of Tiger Woods, achieved a major milestone in his golfing career by scoring his first hole-in-one during the PNC Championship. The incredible shot came on the par-three fourth hole during the final round of the event, a moment that would propel him and his father into the lead. Despite the crowd’s cheers, Charlie didn’t initially realize the significance of his shot, only realizing the hole-in-one when he approached the green and saw the ball in the cup.
The PNC Championship, a unique event that pairs 20 major champions with their family members, served as the stage for Charlie’s achievement. The tournament holds special significance for Tiger, as it marked his return to competition following back surgery in September. Despite his own challenges, Tiger has remained a central figure at the event, with his and Charlie’s performance always drawing attention.
Charlie’s hole-in-one came at a crucial time, with the Woods duo already in contention after the first round. They finished day one tied for first place with two other teams, scoring an impressive 59, 13 under par. This put them in a strong position as the tournament progressed.
The excitement didn’t stop there—about half an hour after Charlie’s hole-in-one, Paddy Harrington, the son of three-time major champion Padraig Harrington, also made a hole-in-one on the eighth hole. The young Harrington’s success was met with his father’s excitement, as Padraig admitted he had never been more thrilled after a shot.
While Tiger and Charlie Woods have consistently been strong contenders in the PNC Championship, they have yet to claim the title. Their best finish came in 2021 when they finished second, behind John Daly and his son, John Daly II. This year’s event, however, was particularly memorable for both players and spectators, with thrilling moments like Charlie’s hole-in-one capturing the hearts of golf fans around the world.
The PNC Championship remains a special platform where legendary golfers like Tiger Woods can share their love for the sport with their families, creating unforgettable memories in the process. For Charlie, this hole-in-one represents a key milestone in his young but promising golfing career, and his journey alongside his father continues to captivate fans.
