Samsung Electronics to Showcase AI-Powered Home Screens at CES 2025
Samsung is furthering its "Screens Everywhere" vision by integrating smart displays across its home appliance range, as part of its CES 2025 preview. The company is introducing new screen sizes and enhancing its AI Home technology to make home appliances smarter and more connected.
Jeong Seung Moon, EVP and Head of the R&D Team for Digital Appliances Business at Samsung, stated, “We have been leading the development of screen appliances to elevate our consumers’ experiences with innovative features and functionalities. Along with those efforts towards enhancing usability, we are expanding consumer options by developing screens of different sizes and products that effectively incorporate them.”
Kitchen Innovations
Samsung is debuting a new Bespoke Refrigerator featuring a 9-inch AI Home screen, adding to its existing 21.5-inch and 32-inch Family Hub models. This compact screen offers advanced smart home control, including an updated Map View to manage connected devices like air conditioners and robot vacuums directly from the refrigerator. It also acts as a hub for controlling SmartThings-compatible devices such as lights and plugs.
Laundry Technology Expands
Samsung is expanding its AI-powered display features into the laundry category. The 7-inch AI Home screen, previously found in the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo, will now be available in the new Bespoke AI Washer and Dryer set. For markets with varying consumer needs, a more compact 4.3-inch version will also be available.
Wall Oven Upgrade for North America
A standout upgrade for North American consumers is the Bespoke Wall Oven, now featuring a 7-inch AI Home screen. Thanks to an over-the-network Smart Forward update, the oven’s features are enhanced with better recipe recommendations and the new “Customized Cook” feature. The oven can now recognize ingredients and suggest recipes from an expanded menu of 80 options, saving up to 30 of the most frequently used recipes starting in March 2025.
Key Features and AI Integration
All of these AI Home screens are powered by Bixby, Samsung’s voice assistant, and will provide key appliance operation details such as internal temperatures and cycle statuses. The screens also enable entertainment through internet connectivity, transforming kitchen and laundry appliances into multifunctional smart devices.
