This innovation signals the company’s intent to push boundaries in the commuter motorcycle market by integrating features usually found in higher-end bikes.

Hero MotoCorp, India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, has officially teased the new Glamour 125 ahead of its launch. The teaser reveals that the upcoming model will come equipped with cruise control, making it the first motorcycle in its segment to offer this premium feature. This innovation signals the company’s intent to push boundaries in the commuter motorcycle market by integrating features usually found in higher-end bikes.

The Glamour 125 has been one of Hero MotoCorp’s most popular offerings in the 125cc commuter segment. Known for its practicality, fuel efficiency, and everyday reliability, the Glamour has been a preferred choice for riders seeking a balance between style and performance. With the addition of cruise control, the updated model is expected to appeal not only to regular city commuters but also to riders who travel longer distances and seek enhanced comfort during rides.

While Hero MotoCorp has not yet disclosed the complete list of upgrades, the teaser suggests several visual changes. The new Glamour 125 is likely to feature updated graphics, refreshed body panels, and a redesigned headlamp for a more modern appearance. Along with the cosmetic updates, the bike is expected to get an upgraded instrument cluster with digital readouts and a dedicated cruise control indicator.

Mechanically, the Glamour 125 will likely continue to be powered by a 124.7cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. In its current form, this engine produces around 10.72 bhp and 10.6 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. However, Hero might introduce minor refinements to improve performance and fuel efficiency. The suspension setup is expected to remain the same, with telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear.

Cruise control on a 125cc commuter is a noteworthy development. It will allow riders to maintain a steady speed on open roads without continuous throttle input, reducing fatigue during longer journeys. This feature could be particularly useful for riders in semi-urban and rural areas who often travel on highways.

The Glamour 125 will continue to focus on offering a comfortable riding posture, making it suitable for daily use as well as extended rides. Safety features such as CBS (Combi-Brake System), side-stand engine cut-off, and tubeless tyres are expected to be part of the package.

With the launch scheduled in the coming weeks, Hero MotoCorp aims to strengthen its position in the 125cc category, which has seen increasing competition from brands like Honda, Bajaj, and TVS. The introduction of a feature like cruise control sets the Glamour 125 apart and reinforces Hero’s strategy of offering segment-first innovations to attract buyers.

Bookings are expected to open shortly after the official unveiling, and the updated Glamour 125 is likely to be priced slightly higher than the outgoing model due to the added features.

By introducing cruise control in an affordable commuter motorcycle, Hero MotoCorp is setting a new benchmark in the segment, potentially reshaping buyer expectations for entry-level motorcycles in India.

With the addition of cruise control, the updated model is expected to appeal not only to regular city commuters but also to riders who travel longer distances and seek enhanced comfort during rides.
