Ultraviolette X-47 Venom Launched in India: Top 5 Highlights
Ultraviolette Automotive has launched the X-47 Venom electric motorcycle in India, introducing a new platform, updated battery technology and advanced rider-assistance features. The model has an introductory ex-showroom starting price of Rs 2.65 lakh and is the first motorcycle to use the company's VX-100 electrical architecture.
The X-47 Venom is offered with two battery capacities, giving customers a choice between a claimed range of 227 km and 343 km under the Indian Driving Cycle. Its other key features include a 30 kW electric motor, a claimed top speed of 155 kmph, DC fast-charging support and radar-based safety technology.
Here are the five major highlights of the new electric motorcycle.
1. Introductory Price Starts at Rs 2.65 Lakh
The Ultraviolette X-47 Venom has been launched at an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 2.65 lakh for the entry-level variant. The introductory pricing applies to the first 5,000 customers, after which the company has indicated that prices will increase by Rs 35,000.
The motorcycle is available in four variants: X-47 Venom, X-47 Venom+, X-47 Venom Recon and X-47 Venom Recon+.
The introductory ex-showroom prices in Bengaluru are as follows:
| VariantIntroductory price | |
| X-47 Venom | Rs 2.65 lakh |
| X-47 Venom+ | Rs 3.15 lakh |
| X-47 Venom Recon | Rs 3.75 lakh |
| X-47 Venom Recon+ | Rs 4.00 lakh approximately |
The exact price can vary according to the variant, battery configuration and selected equipment. Buyers should check the latest official price list and applicable local charges before placing an order.
Bookings opened on October 22, 2026, and deliveries are scheduled to begin in November 2026.
2. Two Battery Options and a Claimed Range of 343 km
One of the biggest highlights of the X-47 Venom is its choice of battery packs. The motorcycle is available with a 7.5 kWh battery and a larger 11 kWh battery.
The smaller battery offers a claimed IDC range of 227 km on a full charge. The larger battery is rated for up to 343 km under the same testing cycle.
The 343 km figure applies to the 11 kWh versions and should not be assumed for every variant. Actual riding range can vary depending on speed, traffic, riding mode, road conditions, temperature, passenger load and other factors.
The battery technology is part of Ultraviolette's new VX-100 platform. The company says the updated battery design improves energy density and cooling performance compared with the previous generation.
Improved thermal management is important for electric motorcycles because battery temperature can affect performance, charging and long-term operation. The platform also incorporates a revised motor and motor controller designed to improve power delivery and reduce weight.
For riders considering an electric motorcycle for regular commuting and longer journeys, the larger battery option may be particularly attractive. However, real-world range and access to charging facilities remain important factors when choosing a variant.
3. A 30 kW Electric Motor and 155 kmph Top Speed
The X-47 Venom uses Ultraviolette's UV LIGHTFURY electric motor, which produces a claimed peak output of 30 kW, equivalent to approximately 40 hp.
The company claims a top speed of 155 kmph. It also states that the motorcycle can accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph in 2.7 seconds and from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.9 seconds.
The motorcycle produces a claimed 550 Nm of torque at the wheel. This is wheel torque, not the motor's conventional shaft-torque figure, so it should not be directly compared with torque specifications published for petrol motorcycles.
The VX-100 platform combines the motor, battery and motor control unit into an updated electrical architecture. Ultraviolette says the redesigned components help reduce weight and improve thermal performance during demanding riding conditions.
The entry-level versions weigh approximately 180 kg, while the larger-battery Recon variants weigh around 195 kg. These figures vary according to the selected configuration.
The Ballistic riding mode is also designed to maintain high-performance capability at lower battery levels than the previous model, according to the manufacturer. Actual performance will depend on battery charge, temperature and operating conditions.
4. Radar-Based Safety Technology and Connected Features
The X-47 Venom includes a range of technology features intended to improve rider awareness and convenience.
Its UV Hypersense system uses rear-facing radar technology to monitor surrounding traffic. Depending on the variant and equipment configuration, the system supports features such as:
- Blind-spot monitoring
- Lane-change assistance
- Overtake alerts
- Rear-collision warnings
These functions are intended to alert riders to vehicles approaching from behind or travelling in areas that may be difficult to monitor directly. They are assistance systems rather than substitutes for mirrors, shoulder checks and safe riding practices.
The motorcycle also offers integrated front and rear dashcams on equipped variants. Camera footage can help provide a record of road events, while the rear-camera feed supports park assist to make manoeuvring in tight spaces easier.
Other notable equipment includes a seven-inch TFT touchscreen, Mappls navigation, cruise control on selected variants and connected functions through Ultraviolette's software ecosystem.
Equipment availability varies by variant, so customers should check the official specification sheet before selecting a model.
5. Fast Charging and the New VX-100 Platform
Charging capability is another major feature of the X-47 Venom. The motorcycle supports DC fast charging at up to 12 kW and is equipped with an onboard charger on selected variants.
Ultraviolette also lists a 1.6 kW onboard charger for compatible configurations. Charging time will depend on the battery capacity, the charger's actual output, the starting charge level and the available charging infrastructure.
The VX-100 platform has been developed to support the company's next generation of electric vehicles. It incorporates changes to the battery pack, motor, motor controller and thermal-management system.
The company says these improvements are intended to provide better cooling, reduced component weight and more consistent performance. Battery protection systems and electronic monitoring are also designed to help manage faults and operating temperatures.
For buyers, the practical benefits will depend on how the motorcycle performs in everyday use, how easily they can access compatible charging stations and the cost of charging over time.
Final Verdict
The Ultraviolette X-47 Venom brings together a claimed range of up to 343 km, a 30 kW electric motor, a 155 kmph top speed and advanced rider-assistance technology. Its introductory starting price of Rs 2.65 lakh makes it a new option in India's premium electric motorcycle market.
The 11 kWh battery variant is the choice for buyers prioritising maximum claimed range, while the 7.5 kWh version offers a lower entry price and a claimed 227 km IDC range. Radar-based assistance, a touchscreen display and DC fast charging add to the motorcycle's technology package.
Before buying, customers should compare the variant-wise equipment, confirm the introductory price conditions and assess their charging requirements. Real-world range, charging access, ownership costs and after-sales support will all influence whether the X-47 Venom is suitable for their needs.
