Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has officially launched the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP in the Indian market, priced at ₹28.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This flagship superbike, directly inspired by Honda’s MotoGP experience, is engineered to deliver extraordinary performance for riders who demand precision, speed, and advanced technology.

At the heart of the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP lies a 999 cc, inline-four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces an impressive 217.5 hp at 14,500 rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 12,500 rpm. The motor is paired with a six-speed gearbox equipped with a bi-directional quick-shifter, allowing lightning-fast gear changes without clutch input. This combination ensures the motorcycle can deliver exceptional speed on the racetrack while offering controlled performance on public roads.

One of the highlights of the Fireblade SP is its MotoGP-inspired aerodynamics. The design includes winglets integrated into the fairing, which improve downforce and stability at high speeds. These features, developed through Honda’s extensive racing experience, ensure better cornering performance and reduced wheel lift under acceleration.

In terms of suspension, the motorcycle comes with Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 electronic suspension at both ends. This setup automatically adjusts damping based on riding conditions, offering riders a balance between track-focused handling and road comfort. Braking duties are handled by top-of-the-line Brembo Stylema calipers with dual 330 mm discs at the front and a 220 mm disc at the rear, providing powerful and consistent stopping power.

The CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP also comes loaded with advanced electronics. It features a six-axis IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) that works with traction control, wheelie control, launch control, and cornering ABS to provide riders with maximum confidence. Riders can choose from multiple riding modes, including customizable options, to tailor the bike’s performance according to their needs. A full-color TFT display provides all necessary information, while the inclusion of ride-by-wire throttle enhances responsiveness.

Weighing just 201 kg (kerb), the superbike has an excellent power-to-weight ratio, ensuring razor-sharp performance. Its lightweight aluminum frame and optimized swingarm design further contribute to agility, stability, and cornering precision. The ergonomics are track-focused, offering an aggressive riding posture suitable for high-performance scenarios, though it remains manageable for experienced riders in urban environments.

For enthusiasts, the Fireblade SP represents Honda’s relentless pursuit of perfection in the superbike category. Its combination of raw power, cutting-edge electronics, and MotoGP-derived features makes it one of the most advanced motorcycles available in India. The inclusion of Öhlins suspension, Brembo braking systems, and aerodynamic winglets underscores Honda’s focus on bringing race technology to street-legal machines.

With this launch, Honda strengthens its premium portfolio in India, targeting seasoned riders and collectors who seek the ultimate riding experience. Positioned as a direct competitor to other flagship superbikes such as the BMW S 1000 RR, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, and Ducati Panigale V4, the Fireblade SP is expected to attract enthusiasts who value Honda’s blend of engineering excellence and racing DNA.

The Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP, with its price tag of ₹28.99 lakh, stands as a statement of performance and innovation, setting new benchmarks in India’s superbike market.
