Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 Updated With Slip-Assist Clutch, Priced at Rs 2.2 Lakh

The motorcycle continues to be offered with spoke wheels, a forward-set riding position and a minimalist rear section, appealing to riders who prefer a classic custom look straight from the factory.

Royal Enfield has updated its bobber-style motorcycle, the Goan Classic 350, by adding two key features aimed at improving everyday usability and rider comfort. Priced at Rs 2.2 lakh (ex-showroom), the updated model now comes equipped with a slip-and-assist clutch and a USB Type-C charging port, bringing it in line with other motorcycles built on Royal Enfield’s J-platform.

The most notable update is the inclusion of a slip-and-assist clutch. This technology reduces clutch lever effort, making the motorcycle easier to ride in city traffic and during longer journeys. It also helps prevent rear-wheel lock-up during aggressive downshifts, enhancing stability and rider confidence. Several other Royal Enfield 350cc models, including the Classic 350, Meteor 350 and Hunter 350, already feature this clutch system, and its introduction on the Goan Classic 350 ensures mechanical consistency across the platform.

Another practical addition is the USB Type-C charging port. Compared to older USB ports, the Type-C unit supports faster charging and better compatibility with modern smartphones and accessories. This feature is particularly useful for riders who rely on navigation or need to keep their devices charged during long rides.

Mechanically, the Goan Classic 350 remains unchanged. It continues to be powered by the familiar 349cc, air-oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces around 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a five-speed gearbox and is known for its smooth power delivery and relaxed cruising nature. This setup is shared with several other Royal Enfield models and has proven to be reliable and refined for everyday riding.

In terms of design, the Goan Classic 350 retains its distinctive bobber-inspired styling. It features a low-slung stance, wide handlebars, chopped fenders and a single-seat layout that gives it a retro-custom appearance. The motorcycle continues to be offered with spoke wheels, a forward-set riding position and a minimalist rear section, appealing to riders who prefer a classic custom look straight from the factory.

The suspension setup includes telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers, tuned for comfort-oriented riding. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends, supported by dual-channel ABS as standard. These components remain unchanged in the updated version.

With the addition of the slip-and-assist clutch and USB-C port, Royal Enfield has focused on enhancing the ownership experience rather than making cosmetic or performance-related changes. The updates make the Goan Classic 350 more convenient for daily use while maintaining its unique identity within the company’s lineup.

The Goan Classic 350 competes in a niche segment, targeting riders who want a factory-built bobber-style motorcycle with classic design elements and modern reliability. With the latest updates, Royal Enfield aims to strengthen the model’s appeal without significantly increasing its price.
