Suzuki Motorcycle India has officially launched the updated version of its iconic superbike, the Suzuki Hayabusa, which now complies with the OBD2B (On-Board Diagnostics Stage 2B) standards mandated under Indian emission regulations. The move ensures the Hayabusa remains road-legal under the latest environmental norms while maintaining its signature high-performance characteristics.

The 2025 Hayabusa also comes with new colour options, offering riders refreshed styling along with regulatory compliance. The new colours include:

Metallic Matte Sword Silver with Candy Daring Red

Glass Sparkle Black with Metallic Matte Black

Pearl Vigor Blue with Pearl Brilliant White

These shades bring a modern look to the bike while keeping its bold and aerodynamic design intact. No changes have been made to the bodywork or mechanical components, preserving the Hayabusa’s signature stance and power delivery.

 What is OBD2B Compliance?

The OBD2B standard is part of India’s second phase of BS6 (Bharat Stage VI) emission norms. It requires motorcycles to have on-board diagnostic systems that can monitor the performance of emission-related components in real-time. The aim is to ensure better emission control and early detection of any malfunction that may affect emissions.

The Hayabusa now features a more advanced OBD unit, capable of alerting the rider via dashboard indicators in case of any emission-related fault, improving environmental performance and serviceability.

 Engine & Performance

The superbike continues to be powered by the 1,340cc, inline-four-cylinder engine, producing around 190 PS of power and 150 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a bi-directional quick-shifter. It features:

Suzuki Drive Mode Selector Alpha (SDMS-α)

Cornering ABS

Traction control

Cruise control

Launch control

Engine brake control

All features are retained from the previous model, ensuring that the Hayabusa remains a top choice for performance biking enthusiasts.

 Price and Availability

The updated OBD2B-compliant Hayabusa is priced at around ₹16.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Bookings have started at authorised Suzuki dealerships across India.

Suzuki's move to update the Hayabusa aligns with India’s growing focus on sustainable mobility without compromising on performance. The addition of new colours also adds to the model's visual appeal, keeping it fresh in a competitive premium bike segment.

The move ensures the Hayabusa remains road-legal under the latest environmental norms while maintaining its signature high-performance characteristics.
