TVS Motor Company, one of India’s leading two-wheeler manufacturers, is set to expand its popular Ntorq lineup with the launch of the TVS Ntorq 150, a larger and more powerful variant aimed at performance-focused scooter buyers. The upcoming model is expected to build on the success of the Ntorq 125, which has been well-received by urban commuters and young riders for its sporty looks and smart connectivity features.
According to sources familiar with the development, the Ntorq 150 will be powered by a newly developed 150cc engine that is likely to deliver higher torque and better top-end performance compared to the current 125cc variant. This engine upgrade is expected to provide a strong acceleration profile, making the Ntorq 150 a compelling choice for customers looking for a blend of practicality and performance.
Design-wise, the scooter is expected to retain the aggressive styling cues of the Ntorq 125 but with some refinements such as sharper body panels, larger wheels, and sportier color schemes. LED lighting, a fully digital instrument cluster, and Bluetooth-based SmartXonnect connectivity are likely to be included as standard features. These features have already proven popular in the 125cc model and are expected to be enhanced in the 150cc version.
The launch of the Ntorq 150 is seen as a strategic move by TVS to tap into the growing premium scooter market in India. With competitors like the Aprilia SR 160 and Yamaha Aerox 155 already present in this segment, TVS is expected to price the new model competitively to attract customers who desire both style and performance.
Industry analysts believe that the timing of the launch could align with the upcoming festive season or mid-year market cycle to take advantage of increased consumer spending. The expected ex-showroom price is estimated to be in the range of ₹1.20 lakh to ₹1.35 lakh, depending on the variants and features offered.
TVS is also expected to focus on ride quality, safety, and convenience. Suspension upgrades, improved braking systems (possibly with front disc and rear drum or dual disc options), and additional utility features such as USB charging ports and boot lighting may be part of the package.
Dealers have reported increased interest in the Ntorq range in recent months, suggesting a strong demand potential for a more powerful version. While the company has not yet made an official announcement regarding the launch date, market insiders suggest that the unveiling could happen soon, followed by availability across TVS dealerships nationwide.
The introduction of the Ntorq 150 could further solidify TVS’s position in the performance scooter segment and offer a strong alternative to existing players. With the right combination of features, price, and branding, the Ntorq 150 may emerge as a top contender in the premium scooter space.
