Kia India Achieves Record October 2026 Sales of 33,462 Units, Seltos and Sonet Drive Performance
Kia India has recorded its highest-ever monthly wholesale sales since entering the Indian market, dispatching 33,462 vehicles to dealers in October 2026. The company reported a year-on-year growth of 13.22 per cent compared with the 29,556 units dispatched during October 2025. The latest performance also surpassed Kia's previous monthly record of 32,017 units, achieved in September 2026.
The South Korean automaker's October performance was supported by festive-season demand and the continued contribution of its popular models, particularly the Kia Seltos and Kia Sonet. The company also reported strong performance from its electric vehicle and CNG portfolios, indicating demand across different vehicle categories and powertrain options.
Seltos and Sonet Remain Key Sales Contributors
The Kia Seltos and Kia Sonet continued to play an important role in the company's overall sales performance during October. Both models have established a presence in their respective SUV segments and remain important products in Kia India's portfolio.
The Seltos recorded more than 13,000 units in sales during the month, making it one of the major contributors to the company's record performance. According to Kia, the model has maintained average monthly sales of more than 10,000 units since its launch in January 2026.
The Sonet also remained among the key contributors to Kia's October wholesale volumes. Its presence in the compact SUV segment has helped the company attract customers looking for feature-rich vehicles in a smaller SUV category.
The continued demand for these two models has strengthened Kia India's position in the passenger vehicle market. Their performance, combined with interest in newer offerings, contributed to the company's record monthly dispatches.
Kia Surpasses Its Previous Monthly Sales Record
October 2026 marked the second consecutive month in which Kia India achieved a new monthly wholesale sales record. The company had previously recorded 32,017 units in September 2026, which was its highest monthly figure at that time.
The October total of 33,462 units exceeded the September record by 1,445 units. It also represented a 13.22 per cent increase over the corresponding month last year.
The latest figures reflect wholesale dispatches, which refer to vehicles supplied by the manufacturer to dealerships. They should not be confused with retail registrations or the number of vehicles delivered directly to customers.
Kia's performance during the month was supported by festive-season buying activity, which generally contributes to increased demand for passenger vehicles in India. The company also credited its established models and newer products for helping it achieve the result.
January to October Sales Cross 2.86 Lakh Units
Kia India also reported strong cumulative performance during the first ten months of 2026. Its wholesale dispatches between January and October reached 2,86,470 units, representing a 21.31 per cent increase compared with the corresponding period in 2025.
An important milestone for the company was that its cumulative sales during the first ten months of 2026 had already exceeded its full-year 2025 sales figure of 2,80,286 units.
This performance highlights the growth in Kia's overall business during the year. The company has benefited from demand for its established models as well as the expansion of its product range.
The January to October figures also indicate that the company's growth has not been limited to a single month. Its consecutive monthly records and higher year-to-date dispatches point to sustained wholesale momentum.
Electric Vehicle Sales Reach a New Monthly High
Electric vehicles were another important part of Kia India's October performance. The company recorded its highest-ever monthly EV sales during the month, with volumes increasing by 31 per cent compared with September 2026.
The Syros EV and Carens Clavis EV contributed to the growth in electric vehicle sales. Their performance reflects Kia's efforts to expand its presence in India's developing electric passenger vehicle market.
The growth in EV sales is significant as manufacturers continue to introduce more electric models and offer customers additional powertrain choices. Demand for electric vehicles is influenced by several factors, including running costs, charging infrastructure, vehicle range and ownership benefits.
Kia's latest monthly performance suggests that its electric vehicle portfolio is contributing to the company's broader sales momentum. However, the company has not disclosed the exact number of electric vehicles sold during October in the reported figures.
CNG Models Add to Kia's Sales Performance
Kia's CNG-powered models also contributed to the company's October sales. The CNG variants of the Carens and Carens Clavis together accounted for close to 10 per cent of the month's total wholesale volumes.
The growing contribution of these variants highlights the company's effort to provide alternatives to conventional petrol and diesel powertrains. CNG vehicles are considered by some buyers looking for different fuel options and potentially lower running expenses, depending on local fuel prices and usage.
The Carens and Carens Clavis are part of Kia's family-oriented vehicle range. Their CNG variants add another option for customers who require vehicles for regular commuting and family travel.
The contribution from these models also shows that Kia's sales growth is supported by more than just its leading SUV products.
Kia's Newer Products Receive Customer Interest
Kia India also highlighted the response to its newer products, including the premium Sorento SUV. The company said the model had received an encouraging response from customers. The Sorento is offered with hybrid and diesel powertrain options.
The company's strategy involves expanding its portfolio across different vehicle categories and powertrain technologies. Alongside petrol and diesel models, Kia is increasing its focus on CNG and electric vehicles to address changing customer preferences.
Commenting on the October performance, Atul Sood, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Kia India, attributed the record result to positive festive demand, the performance of established models and the response to newer offerings. He also highlighted the contribution of CNG vehicles and the growth in electric vehicle sales.
What the October Sales Record Means for Kia India
Kia India's October 2026 performance marks an important milestone for the automaker. The record wholesale dispatches of 33,462 units, 13.22 per cent annual growth and cumulative sales of 2,86,470 units indicate that the company has maintained strong momentum during the year.
The Seltos and Sonet continued to be major contributors, while the performance of the EV and CNG portfolios added further support. The company's ability to offer multiple powertrain choices is also an important part of its strategy as customer preferences continue to evolve.
With its January to October sales already exceeding the total recorded in 2025, Kia India enters the remaining months of the year with a strong wholesale performance. The company's future results will depend on customer demand, new product launches, market conditions and competition in India's passenger vehicle segment.
For October, however, the key achievement is clear. Kia India has set a new monthly wholesale sales record, with its established SUVs and expanding range of powertrain options contributing to the milestone.
