Toyota October 2026 Sales Decline 29.2% to 30,360 Units, January to October Growth Reaches 3%

Toyota Kirloskar Motor recorded total sales of 30,360 units in October 2026, comprising 29,521 vehicles sold in the domestic market and 839 units exported. The company's monthly sales declined by approximately 29.2% compared with the 42,892 units recorded in October 2025. However, its cumulative performance for the first ten months of 2026 remained positive, with total sales reaching 3,25,274 units and registering 3% year-on-year growth.

The October figures highlight a difference between Toyota's monthly performance and its overall sales progress during the calendar year. While the company faced a significant decline compared with the same month last year, domestic sales growth during the January to October period helped maintain positive cumulative results.

Toyota Records 30,360 Units in October

According to the company's monthly sales announcement dated November 1, 2026, Toyota Kirloskar Motor sold 30,360 vehicles during October. Domestic sales accounted for 29,521 units, while exports contributed 839 units.

Compared with October 2025, when the company recorded total sales of 42,892 units, the October 2026 figure represents a decline of approximately 29.2%. Domestic sales fell from 40,257 units in October last year to 29,521 units this October. Exports also decreased from 2,635 units to 839 units.

The figures indicate that both domestic sales and overseas shipments were lower than their corresponding levels a year earlier. The decline in exports was particularly sharp, contributing to the overall reduction in monthly sales.

January to October Sales Increase by 3%

Despite the weaker October performance, Toyota maintained positive cumulative sales growth during the first ten months of 2026.

The company recorded total sales of 3,25,274 units between January and October 2026, compared with 3,15,716 units during the same period in 2025. This represents an increase of 9,558 units and overall growth of approximately 3%.

Domestic sales played an important role in supporting this performance. Toyota sold 2,99,140 vehicles in the Indian market during the January to October 2026 period, compared with 2,87,338 units in the corresponding period last year. This represents growth of approximately 4%.

In contrast, cumulative exports declined. The company exported 26,134 units during the first ten months of 2026, compared with 28,378 units in the same period of 2025. This represents a reduction of approximately 8%.

The cumulative figures show that growth in the domestic market more than offset the decline in exports, allowing Toyota to report an overall increase in sales.

Domestic Market Remains the Main Contributor

India continued to account for the largest share of Toyota Kirloskar Motor's sales during the January to October period. Domestic volumes reached 2,99,140 units, representing the majority of the company's cumulative sales.

The increase in domestic volumes helped the company maintain positive year-to-date growth despite lower exports. Toyota's performance also reflects the importance of its presence across different vehicle categories in the Indian market.

The company has a portfolio covering hatchbacks, SUVs, multi-purpose vehicles, sedans and pickup trucks. Its range includes models such as the Glanza, Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Innova Hycross, Innova Crysta, Fortuner, Rumion, Hilux and Camry.

However, Toyota has not provided a model-wise sales breakdown in its October announcement. Therefore, the contribution of individual vehicles to the month's total sales cannot be determined from the figures released.

Toyota Highlights Customer Response to the New Glanza

Commenting on the October performance, Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President of Sales, Service and Used Car Business at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said that the festive season continued to generate encouraging customer interest across markets.

He also highlighted the company's focus on offering a diverse product portfolio, improving ownership experiences and introducing customer-oriented initiatives.

Toyota mentioned that its recently launched New Glanza had received an encouraging response from customers. The company highlighted the hatchback's styling, features and value proposition. However, it did not disclose separate booking or sales figures for the model.

The company said it would continue focusing on customer satisfaction and reliable mobility solutions while responding to changing market conditions.

What Toyota's October Sales Figures Indicate

Toyota's October 2026 performance presents two different trends. Its monthly sales declined significantly compared with October 2025, while cumulative sales for January to October continued to show growth.

The decline in domestic sales and exports affected the monthly total. At the same time, the 4% increase in cumulative domestic sales supported the company's overall performance during the first ten months of the year.

The export decline remains an important part of the sales picture, with shipments falling to 26,134 units during January to October 2026. The company will need to monitor both domestic demand and overseas shipments as it moves into the final months of the calendar year.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor's October announcement therefore reflects a challenging monthly comparison alongside continued year-to-date growth. With total sales reaching 3,25,274 units between January and October, the company recorded a 3% increase over the corresponding period in 2025.
