JSW MG Motor India has expanded its new energy vehicle portfolio in India with the launch of the Hector Tomahawk PHEV. The new seven seater plug in hybrid SUV has been introduced with an introductory ex showroom price of Rs 25.69 lakh. Customers can also choose the company's Battery as a Service model, under which the starting vehicle price is Rs 21.79 lakh, with a separate battery usage charge.
The Hector Tomahawk PHEV is designed to combine the benefits of electric driving for shorter journeys with the flexibility of a petrol engine for longer trips. This approach allows buyers who may not be ready to move completely to an electric vehicle to consider a plug in hybrid option.
Powertrain and Battery
The new MG SUV uses a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine combined with a 20.5 kWh battery pack and an electric motor. The petrol engine produces around 101 PS and 125 Nm, while the electric motor produces around 198 PS and 237 Nm. The system is paired with a dedicated hybrid transmission.
