Skoda Auto India has launched the facelifted Slavia in India, bringing several design, technology, comfort and powertrain updates to its popular midsize sedan. The updated model is priced from Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 18.84 lakh, ex showroom, and is available in six variants. The lineup includes Classic, Classic Plus, Signature, Sportline, Prestige and Monte Carlo.
The facelift retains the core characteristics of the Slavia while adding new equipment aimed at improving comfort, convenience and everyday usability. The most significant changes include a new eight speed automatic transmission for the 1.0 litre TSI engine, a 360 degree camera, a rear seat massage function and an AI based infotainment system powered by Google Cloud.
Here are the five key highlights of the 2026 Skoda Slavia facelift.
New Eight Speed Automatic
One of the biggest mechanical changes in the updated Slavia is the introduction of an eight speed torque converter automatic gearbox with the 1.0 litre TSI petrol engine. Skoda describes this as a segment first feature for the engine and transmission combination.
The 1.0 TSI petrol engine continues to produce 115 hp and is available with either a six speed manual gearbox or the new eight speed automatic transmission. This replaces the earlier automatic setup and gives customers an additional transmission option in the entry level turbo petrol powertrain.
The larger 1.5 litre TSI engine continues to produce 150 hp and is paired with a seven speed DSG automatic transmission. The 1.5 TSI is available from the Prestige variant onwards. Models equipped with the 1.5 TSI also receive rear disc brakes.
Rear Seat Massage Function
The Slavia facelift introduces a rear seat massage function, which Skoda positions as a segment first feature. The feature is available on the higher Prestige and Monte Carlo variants.
The addition is aimed at improving passenger comfort, particularly for customers who regularly use the sedan for long distance journeys. Rear seat comfort is an important consideration in the midsize sedan segment, where buyers often use the vehicle for family travel.
Along with the massage function, higher variants also receive ventilated and electrically adjustable front seats. These additions give the updated Slavia a more premium cabin experience compared with the outgoing model.
Skoda has also refreshed the interior with new colour combinations and trim finishes. The basic dashboard layout remains familiar, but the larger displays and additional technology give the cabin a more modern appearance.
360 Degree Camera
Another important addition is the 360 degree Area View camera. The system provides a wider view around the vehicle and can assist drivers while parking or manoeuvring through narrow spaces.
The facelift also gets Park Pilot with front parking sensors. This is an upgrade over the earlier rear camera setup and is expected to make the sedan easier to position in crowded urban environments.
The 360 degree camera is available on higher variants, including the Sportline, Prestige and Monte Carlo. Its availability gives buyers another reason to consider the upper trims when comparing the different versions of the updated Slavia.
The addition of the camera is particularly useful for a sedan with a relatively long body, as it can help drivers identify obstacles around the vehicle more easily.
Google Cloud Powered AI Companion
Technology is another major focus of the Slavia facelift. The updated sedan gets a new generation infotainment system with an AI Companion powered by Google Cloud's Automotive AI Agent.
The system is designed to provide an enhanced voice based interaction experience. It can assist with functions such as music, calls and climate control while also providing access to information through voice commands.
The infotainment system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Depending on the variant, the Slavia also gets a larger touchscreen and a larger digital instrument cluster.
The top variants receive a 10.25 inch digital cockpit, while the infotainment system measures 10.1 inches on the updated model. These larger displays replace the smaller screens used in the earlier version and give the cabin a more contemporary technology package.
Updated Exterior Design
The fifth major highlight is the revised exterior design. Skoda has retained the basic silhouette of the Slavia but introduced several styling changes to make the sedan look more modern.
The facelift gets redesigned LED headlamps and updated LED tail lamps with sequential turn indicators. The grille and front and rear sections have also been revised. New alloy wheel designs are included as part of the update.
The Monte Carlo variant receives a sportier appearance with black exterior elements, red detailing and dedicated Monte Carlo badging. The variant is also available with dual tone exterior colour combinations.
Skoda has added new colour choices to the Slavia range, including Arctic Silver and Cappuccino Beige. The company has also retained several existing colour options. Deliveries of the Cappuccino Beige shade are scheduled to begin in December 2026.
Six Variants
The facelifted Slavia is available in six variants. These are Classic, Classic Plus, Signature, Sportline, Prestige and Monte Carlo.
The Classic variant starts at Rs 9.99 lakh and is offered with the 1.0 TSI engine and six speed manual gearbox. The Classic Plus is priced at Rs 10.99 lakh for the manual version and Rs 12.49 lakh for the 1.0 TSI eight speed automatic.
The Signature variant costs Rs 13.94 lakh with the manual gearbox and Rs 14.94 lakh with the automatic. The Sportline is priced at Rs 14.34 lakh for the manual and Rs 15.34 lakh for the automatic.
The Prestige costs Rs 15.89 lakh with the 1.0 TSI manual and Rs 16.89 lakh with the eight speed automatic. The 1.5 TSI DSG version is priced at Rs 18.59 lakh.
At the top of the range, the Monte Carlo costs Rs 17.29 lakh with the 1.0 TSI automatic and Rs 18.84 lakh with the 1.5 TSI DSG. All prices are ex showroom.
Safety Features
The Slavia facelift continues with a strong safety equipment package. The sedan retains its five star Global NCAP safety credentials and comes with six airbags as standard.
The updated model also includes more than 25 active and passive safety features across the range, while higher variants offer an even more extensive equipment package.
Other equipment includes a rear defogger, rain sensing wipers, an auto dimming inside rear view mirror and anti glare outside mirrors. The facelift focuses on adding convenience features without compromising the safety equipment for which the Slavia is known.
Engine and Transmission
The updated Slavia continues with two turbo petrol engine options. The 1.0 litre TSI produces 115 hp, while the 1.5 litre TSI produces 150 hp.
The 1.0 TSI is available with a six speed manual or the new eight speed torque converter automatic. The 1.5 TSI is paired with a seven speed DSG automatic.
This means Skoda has made a significant transmission upgrade without changing the fundamental engine lineup. The new eight speed automatic is expected to appeal to buyers who prefer a smoother conventional automatic experience for daily driving and city traffic.
Position in the Market
The Skoda Slavia continues to compete in India's midsize sedan segment against models such as the Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Volkswagen Virtus. The facelift arrives with additional features at a time when buyers are increasingly looking for technology, comfort and automatic transmission options.
The starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh keeps the entry point unchanged, while the top end reaches Rs 18.84 lakh ex showroom. The broad variant range allows buyers to choose between a relatively affordable manual version and feature rich automatic variants.
With the facelift, Skoda has concentrated on making the Slavia more feature rich rather than completely changing its mechanical platform. The addition of the eight speed automatic, rear seat massage, 360 degree camera and AI enabled infotainment gives the sedan a stronger technology and comfort package.
Customer deliveries of the updated Slavia are scheduled to begin next week. Buyers can therefore expect the facelift to reach dealerships shortly after the price announcement.
Overall, the 2026 Skoda Slavia facelift brings a combination of styling updates, new technology, improved comfort and a significant transmission upgrade. Its starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh makes it accessible at the entry level, while the top Monte Carlo 1.5 TSI DSG variant reaches Rs 18.84 lakh.
The new eight speed automatic for the 1.0 TSI is one of the biggest changes, while the rear seat massage function and 360 degree camera add more premium equipment. The Google Cloud powered AI Companion further expands the car's connected technology package.
With six variants and two turbo petrol engines, the updated Slavia gives buyers several options across different price points. The facelift is therefore more than a cosmetic update, combining revised styling with meaningful changes to the transmission, cabin technology and comfort equipment.
