The BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry has unveiled its strategic roadmap for 2026, outlining plans to strengthen trade, investment, and business collaboration among BRICS member nations. The roadmap aims to create greater opportunities for Indian businesses by encouraging cross border partnerships, improving market access, and supporting investment initiatives across multiple sectors.

Speaking about the organisation's priorities, Sharmishtha Ghosh, Executive Director for International Partnerships and Outreach at the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry, highlighted the importance of closer economic cooperation between member countries. She noted that the organisation intends to facilitate stronger business engagement through trade missions, investment forums, networking events, and industry specific collaborations.

The BRICS grouping, which includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, and its expanded membership, represents a significant share of the global economy. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry works to promote commercial cooperation by connecting businesses, investors, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and industry associations across member nations.

According to the roadmap, one of the primary objectives is to increase bilateral and multilateral trade by helping companies identify new export markets and business opportunities. The Chamber plans to organise business summits, trade exhibitions, and sector focused meetings where enterprises can establish partnerships and explore investment prospects.

The strategy also places considerable emphasis on supporting small and medium enterprises. Recognising the important role these businesses play in economic growth and employment generation, the Chamber intends to expand access to international markets through capacity building programmes, business mentoring, and cross border networking initiatives.

Technology and innovation have been identified as key pillars of the 2026 roadmap. The organisation plans to encourage cooperation in areas such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence, financial technology, renewable energy, healthcare, manufacturing, and sustainable development. These sectors are expected to offer significant opportunities for business expansion across BRICS economies.

Another important focus area is investment facilitation. The Chamber aims to strengthen communication between investors and businesses by promoting investment forums and providing platforms for dialogue between private enterprises and government stakeholders. Such initiatives are intended to improve investor confidence and encourage long term economic partnerships.

Indian businesses are expected to benefit from greater engagement with companies operating across BRICS member countries. The roadmap seeks to improve awareness of emerging markets while helping Indian exporters, manufacturers, technology firms, and service providers expand their international presence through collaborative ventures.

The Chamber also intends to strengthen academic and professional cooperation by promoting knowledge exchange, leadership development, and skill enhancement programmes. These initiatives are designed to prepare businesses for evolving global market conditions while encouraging innovation and sustainable growth.

Economic experts believe that deeper cooperation among BRICS nations could contribute to increased trade volumes, investment flows, and technology sharing. However, they also note that achieving these objectives will require continued policy coordination, improved logistics, and greater ease of doing business across participating countries.

The BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry stated that its 2026 roadmap reflects a long term commitment to supporting economic collaboration and private sector development. As implementation progresses, businesses are expected to receive additional information regarding upcoming trade missions, investment events, and partnership opportunities through the organisation's official channels.
