While stock market trading is suspended, online banking services, ATMs, and digital transactions will continue as usual.

On December 25, 2024, both the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will be closed in observance of Christmas. This includes all trading segments, such as equities, derivatives, and securities lending and borrowing (SLB). Similarly, commodity exchanges like the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) and the National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) will also be non-operational on both the morning and evening trading sessions.

In line with global trading holidays, major international stock markets such as those in the United Kingdom, United States, and Europe will also be closed on Christmas Day. As a result, December 25 will mark the last holiday for the Indian stock market this year, with the markets set to reopen on Thursday, December 26, 2024.

While stock market trading is suspended, online banking services, ATMs, and digital transactions will continue as usual. However, banks in some regions may remain closed until December 27 due to local observances. Investors and traders are advised to plan accordingly, as the break will impact the market activity for the day.

This holiday comes after a positive trading day on December 24, where key Indian stock indices, including BSE Sensex and Nifty 50, saw upward movement.

As a result, December 25 will mark the last holiday for the Indian stock market this year, with the markets set to reopen on Thursday, December 26, 2024.
