Such performances underscore the robustness of India's domestic economy, even amid global uncertainties. Currency Appreciation The influx of foreign funds has also strengthened the Indian rupee, which recently reached its highest level in over two weeks at 85.03 against the US dollar.

In a remarkable turn of events, foreign investors have infused over ₹34,000 crore into Indian equity markets over the past nine trading sessions, marking the longest continuous buying spree since July 2023. This resurgence is attributed to growing optimism over a potential US-India trade agreement and India's resilient economic fundamentals.

 Market Performance

The benchmark Nifty 50 index has risen by 6.6% during this period, while the BSE Sensex has climbed to 80,445 points. Mid-cap and small-cap stocks have also seen gains of 1.1% and 1.3%, respectively. Sectors such as automotive components and energy have particularly benefited, with companies like Samvardhana Motherson and Sona BLW experiencing notable upticks.

Economic and Trade Factors

The renewed investor confidence is largely driven by expectations of a forthcoming US-India trade deal. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent recently indicated that an agreement could be finalized within a week, bolstering market sentiment. Additionally, India's projected economic growth, outpacing that of the US and China, has made it an attractive destination for foreign capital.

 Corporate Earnings and Domestic Strength

Strong corporate earnings reports have further fueled the rally. Reliance Industries, for instance, posted impressive quarterly results, leading to a 5.3% surge in its stock price. Such performances underscore the robustness of India's domestic economy, even amid global uncertainties.

 Currency Appreciation

The influx of foreign funds has also strengthened the Indian rupee, which recently reached its highest level in over two weeks at 85.03 against the US dollar. This appreciation reflects the positive outlook of international investors towards India's economic prospects.

Outlook

Analysts suggest that if the anticipated US-India trade deal materializes and India's economic indicators remain strong, the momentum in the stock markets could persist. However, they also caution that global factors, such as geopolitical tensions and monetary policy shifts, could influence future investment flows.
