Gold prices in India saw a notable increase on January 17, fueled by weak US dollar trends, a drop in US Treasury yields, and softer-than-expected core inflation figures from the US. The price of 22k gold climbed ₹600, reaching ₹74,500 for 10 grams, while 100 grams of the same purity surged ₹6,000 to ₹7,45,000. Similarly, 24k gold prices jumped ₹650 to ₹81,270 for 10 grams and ₹6,500 to ₹8,12,700 for 100 grams.
Meanwhile, 18k gold prices also rose, with 100 grams priced at ₹6,09,600, reflecting an increase of ₹4,900. For 10 grams, the price was ₹60,960, up by ₹490. In the global market, spot gold remained stable at $2,715.09 per ounce, and US gold futures slipped slightly to $2,746.90. Platinum saw a 0.5% rise to $936.90, palladium dipped by 0.1% to $939.53, and spot silver increased marginally to $30.82 per ounce.
These movements highlight the influence of global economic factors and currency trends on domestic gold and silver markets.
