On January 22, gold prices in India soared to a record high, breaking the ₹82,000 mark for the first time. This sharp increase in prices is largely attributed to a weaker U.S. dollar and increasing global uncertainty, fueled by concerns about President Trump’s upcoming policies that could impact the global markets. As investors seek safe-haven assets amidst economic uncertainties, gold demand has surged, pushing prices to new heights.
On this day, 22-carat gold saw a jump of Rs. 750, reaching Rs. 75,250, while 24-carat gold prices surged by Rs. 860, touching Rs. 82,090. The 18-carat gold also saw a notable increase of Rs. 570, retailing at Rs. 61,570. Additionally, 100 grams of gold saw a massive rise of Rs. 8,600, priced at Rs. 8,20,900. The price of 24-carat gold per 100 grams now stands at Rs. 7,52,500, after a rise of Rs. 7,500. The rally in gold prices is expected to continue as global uncertainties remain high.
