Gold prices in India showed limited movement on Thursday, January 29, 2026, reflecting a period of relative stability in the domestic bullion market. Despite the overall stability, gold prices differed slightly across major Indian cities. These variations are common and depend on several factors, including regional demand, transportation and logistics costs, local taxes, and jeweller margins. Cities with strong jewellery demand or higher operational costs often see marginally higher rates.

Gold prices in India are influenced by a combination of domestic and global factors. International bullion prices play a key role, as India relies heavily on gold imports. Movements in the US dollar, interest rate expectations, and geopolitical developments also affect global gold prices, which in turn impact domestic rates.

Additionally, import duties and taxes imposed by the government contribute significantly to the final retail price of gold in India. Seasonal demand, especially during weddings and festivals, can also push prices higher in certain regions.

Market experts note that gold continues to attract interest as a safe haven asset amid global economic uncertainty. While prices have remained stable in recent sessions, investors and buyers are advised to track international trends and currency movements, as these could influence prices in the coming days.
