Infosys shares experienced a notable dip of more than 5% on Friday, despite the company's impressive performance in its third-quarter results for FY25. The decline came shortly after Infosys reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 6,806 crore, an 11% year-on-year increase. Revenue from operations rose by 8% YoY, totaling Rs 41,764 crore, with constant currency (CC) revenue growth at 6.1%. The company also raised its FY25 CC revenue growth forecast to 4.5-5%, up from 3.75-4.5%, while maintaining its operating margin guidance at 20-22%.
Despite these strong figures, Infosys shares saw a sharp decline on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), falling to an intraday low of Rs 1,815.85 and closing down 5.40% at Rs 1,822.10 by 10:15 am. The drop in the stock price followed a decrease in the company's American Depositary Receipt (ADR), which closed at $21.57 on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Analysts are assessing the reasons behind the market's response to these results, with some suggesting that the market's expectations or broader market trends might have played a role in the stock's decline. The strong performance metrics and the upgraded guidance indicate a positive outlook for Infosys, but the sharp drop in shares suggests that market sentiment may be reacting to other factors.
