A liquefied petroleum gas tanker from Qatar has arrived at New Mangalore Port located in Mangaluru carrying a cargo of 17600 metric tonnes of LPG. The shipment is part of India ongoing efforts to maintain a stable supply of cooking fuel and energy resources across different regions of the country.
According to port authorities, the vessel reached the port safely and docking procedures were completed under the supervision of port officials and safety teams. After arrival, technical inspections and documentation processes were carried out before beginning the unloading of the LPG cargo. Officials stated that all operations are being conducted according to established safety guidelines and international maritime standards.
Liquefied petroleum gas is widely used in households, industries and commercial establishments across India. Imports such as this help strengthen the fuel distribution network and ensure that supply remains steady, especially in times of high demand. Energy imports from countries in the Middle East including Qatar continue to play a significant role in supporting India energy needs.
