The goal, he said, is to democratize AI so that innovation can happen across sectors without being limited to a few major players.

At the Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2025, Reliance Industries Limited Chairman Mukesh Ambani unveiled an ambitious project named “Reliance Intelligence,” a platform designed to drive India’s growth in artificial intelligence. The initiative, developed in partnership with global technology leaders Google and Meta, is expected to strengthen India’s position as a global hub for AI innovation.

Ambani, addressing shareholders and industry leaders, emphasized that artificial intelligence will be the defining force of the coming decade. He explained that Reliance Intelligence has been conceived as a comprehensive platform that integrates research, product development, and real-world applications of AI into everyday life. The collaboration with Google and Meta is aimed at pooling expertise, infrastructure, and global best practices while ensuring solutions are tailored to Indian needs.

According to Ambani, the platform will prioritize accessibility by ensuring AI solutions are available not only to large corporations but also to small businesses, startups, and individual entrepreneurs. The goal, he said, is to democratize AI so that innovation can happen across sectors without being limited to a few major players. He stressed that India’s young population and its thriving digital ecosystem provide a strong foundation for rapid adoption of AI-driven technologies.

Reliance Intelligence is expected to focus on critical areas such as healthcare, where AI tools can improve diagnosis and patient management, and education, where adaptive learning platforms can help bridge gaps in access and quality. Ambani also highlighted opportunities in retail, agriculture, logistics, and manufacturing, sectors where AI can optimize operations and create new business models.

One of the standout features of the platform will be its focus on language inclusivity. Recognizing India’s linguistic diversity, Reliance Intelligence will work on AI solutions that are accessible in multiple Indian languages. This will ensure deeper penetration in rural and semi-urban regions, bringing advanced digital tools to millions of people who are currently underrepresented in the digital economy.

Ambani also outlined how Reliance will integrate AI into its existing businesses, from telecommunications and digital services to energy and retail. By embedding intelligence into its platforms, the company aims to deliver smarter services to consumers while driving efficiency within its operations. He further assured that strong safeguards on data privacy and ethical AI practices will remain central to the platform’s growth.

The launch of Reliance Intelligence comes at a time when India is making a concerted push to establish itself as a leader in artificial intelligence. With the government encouraging digital transformation and global firms investing heavily in AI research in India, the partnership with Google and Meta gives the initiative international credibility and technological depth.

Industry experts believe that Reliance Intelligence could serve as a catalyst for innovation by offering both infrastructure and ecosystem support. It is expected to foster collaborations with universities, startups, and research institutions, creating an environment where new ideas can rapidly move from labs to large-scale applications.

In his concluding remarks, Ambani stated that Reliance Intelligence represents not just a business opportunity but a national mission to empower India’s next phase of digital growth. He expressed confidence that this initiative would play a key role in shaping India’s leadership in the global AI landscape.

Ambani also outlined how Reliance will integrate AI into its existing businesses, from telecommunications and digital services to energy and retail.
