Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), India's largest company by market value, announced a consolidated net profit of ₹19,407 crore for the fourth quarter ending March 2025, showcasing a solid performance across its diverse business segments. In addition to its earnings announcement, the company declared a dividend of ₹5.50 per equity share for the financial year 2024-25.
The company's results beat market expectations, driven by strong contributions from its key verticals — telecom (Reliance Jio), retail (Reliance Retail), and the oil-to-chemicals (O2C) segment. Reliance Jio continued to expand its user base and reported steady growth in average revenue per user (ARPU), while Reliance Retail maintained momentum with new store openings and an expanding online footprint.
In the oil-to-chemicals business, despite volatility in global energy prices, RIL benefited from efficient operations and higher margins in the petrochemicals sector. The company’s energy transition plans, including investments in green energy projects, also remain on track, reflecting its long-term vision of sustainability.
Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, expressed confidence about the company's future prospects. "Our strong quarterly results underscore the resilience of Reliance’s businesses even amid global uncertainties. We are committed to building future-ready businesses across digital services, retail, and new energy," he said during the earnings announcement.
The ₹5.50 dividend declared for FY25 signals RIL's commitment to delivering value to its shareholders. The company has a consistent history of rewarding investors while simultaneously investing in future growth initiatives.
Financial experts believe Reliance’s diversified portfolio gives it a competitive edge, allowing it to manage sectoral fluctuations better than peers. With its aggressive expansion into the green energy space, investments in technology-driven retail, and growing dominance in India's telecom sector, RIL is positioned well for long-term growth.
Going forward, Reliance plans to accelerate the rollout of its green energy projects, including giga factories for solar modules, batteries, hydrogen production, and fuel cells. These initiatives are aligned with India’s push towards sustainable development and energy independence.
The market has responded positively to Reliance’s performance, with analysts projecting strong earnings growth in the next few quarters. Many brokerage houses have reaffirmed a "buy" rating on the company's stock, citing its strong fundamentals and strategic investments.
As Reliance continues to diversify and strengthen its businesses, it remains a key player in shaping India’s corporate landscape, contributing significantly to the country’s economic growth story.
