Despite this relief rally, analysts caution that volatility could remain due to ongoing geopolitical uncertainties, particularly if the Russia-Ukraine situation worsens.

The Indian stock market saw a significant recovery today, as the Sensex and Nifty ended their seven-day losing streak. The Sensex climbed by 1,328 points to 55,858, while Nifty gained 410 points, reaching 16,258. This rally was largely driven by a positive global market sentiment after the West imposed stricter sanctions on Russia in response to its invasion of Ukraine. The market absorbed some of the losses from the previous day, when geopolitical tensions led to heavy selling.

Tata Steel, IndusInd Bank, NTPC, and Bajaj Finance were among the biggest gainers. The market breadth was positive, with more stocks advancing than declining. Despite this relief rally, analysts caution that volatility could remain due to ongoing geopolitical uncertainties, particularly if the Russia-Ukraine situation worsens. The key technical level to watch is 16,500 on the Nifty, as it will determine the direction of future market movements. If this level is maintained, a pullback towards 16,900-17,000 could be possible. However, if the Nifty falls below 16,500, another round of short-term corrections could occur.
