608 students receive internship offers

All 608 students who participated in the summer placement process received offers from 128 organisations. The placements covered students from the PGP and PGPBA programmes for the 2026-28 academic batches.

The recruitment exercise brought together companies from different industries, providing students with opportunities across multiple professional fields. Consulting, finance, technology, product management, sales and marketing, general management and analytics were among the major recruitment areas.

The institute also reported that more than 600 students secured offers within just two days of the placement process. IIM Bangalore's student placement committee described this as the highest number of offers secured in a two-day summer placement process across the Indian Institutes of Management.

The successful completion of the process reflects participation from established recruiters as well as organisations joining the institute's placement drive for the first time. First-time recruiters accounted for approximately 40 per cent of the participating organisations.

Median monthly stipend reaches Rs 2 lakh

One of the key highlights of this year's summer placement report is the stipend information released by IIM Bangalore.

The median monthly stipend stood at Rs 2 lakh, while the average monthly stipend was Rs 1.95 lakh. These figures indicate the level of internship compensation offered to students during the summer placement process.

The median and average figures represent different measurements. The median is the middle value when all stipend amounts are arranged in order, while the average is calculated by dividing the total stipend amount by the number of students or offers included in the calculation.

The figures relate to summer internship placements and should not be confused with the annual salary packages offered during final placements.

New recruiters add to industry participation

Another notable feature of this year's placement process was the participation of first-time recruiters. Around 40 per cent of the 128 participating organisations were new recruiters, according to the institute's placement information.

This indicates that the recruitment network extended beyond companies that regularly participate in IIM Bangalore's campus placement activities.

The institute's Career Development Services team and student placement committee coordinated the process across different recruitment sectors. The participation of organisations from multiple industries also gave students a wider range of internship opportunities.

Strong placement outcome for the 2026-28 batches

The latest summer placement results mark an important milestone for IIM Bangalore's PGP and PGPBA students. With all 608 participating students receiving offers, the institute recorded complete placement coverage for the two batches.

The median monthly stipend of Rs 2 lakh, doubling of technology hiring and strong participation from consulting and finance companies were among the major highlights.

The results also show the growing range of industries recruiting management students. With technology firms, financial institutions, consulting companies and consumer businesses participating, students received internship opportunities across different professional areas.

The summer placements are an important stage in management education, allowing students to gain industry experience and apply classroom learning in professional environments before completing their programmes.

The participation of companies from artificial intelligence, information technology and digital business sectors added to the diversity of opportunities available to students.
